Stop fighting procrastination. Start understanding it.
Some delay is your mind doing useful work. Some isn't. Procrastinate.ai tells the difference and gives you the smallest useful next step, with the reasoning shown.
Your situation
Adjust anything. The suggestion updates instantly.
Suggested next step
Productive incubation
Capture your current thoughts on “your task”, then step away for 60 minutes and come back with fresh eyes.
Why this
- Creative work with low urgency and enough time benefits from incubation.
- Creative demand is high and there is some resistance: widen the options first.
This is the real decision engine from the app, running in your browser. Nothing you type is sent or stored.

The insight
Not all delay is the same problem.
Most productivity apps treat every delay as something to crush. There are four different kinds, and each needs a different answer.
Productive incubation
You step away from a creative problem with time to spare, and your mind keeps working on it in the background.
What helps
Load the problem first, take a walk, come back at a set time. Capture ideas by voice as they arrive.
For example
You’re stuck on a story’s ending and the deadline is next week. A walk is genuinely useful here.
The product
Everything you need to think, start and reflect.
One calm workspace, built around a companion that actually listens.
AI companion
Talk or type about what you’re putting off. It listens first, asks one good question, then suggests a next step and explains why.
I have a presentation tomorrow but I just can’t start.
That sounds heavy. Is it that you’re not sure what to say, or that you’re worried about how it’ll land?
Honestly, both.
Then let’s make it small: write just the three points you want people to remember. Ten minutes. Want a timer?
Illustrative conversation.
Focus Studio
10 to 90 minute sessions with ambient sound and a place to park distractions.
Tasks & calendar
Subtasks, dependencies, recurring tasks and drag-and-drop planning.
Insights
See when you start best and which strategies actually work for you.
Journal & reviews
Daily, weekly and monthly reflections that feed back into suggestions.
Accountability
Scheduled check-ins and opt-in partners. Nothing is shared without you.
How it works
A loop that learns what works for you.
Every conversation moves through seven stages. Click through them.
Feeling
Stage 1 of 7
Stage 1 · Feeling
Notice what you're feeling about the task. The companion suggests; you confirm or correct.
For example: “Anxious, and a bit bored.”
Trust
The AI explains. It doesn't decide for you.
Suggestions come from a transparent rule engine that weighs 10 factors separately. The AI just puts them into plain words. Every suggestion shows what was considered, what was missing and what was ruled out.
How decisions are made- Urgency
- Consequence of delay
- Emotional friction
- Cognitive complexity
- Creativity required
- Available energy
- Decision reversibility
- External dependencies
- Available time
- Deadline proximity
Transparent by design
A rule engine makes the call and shows its working. The AI only explains it.
Private by default
The companion only remembers what you approve. Export or delete anytime.
Built for every age
Large text, high contrast, reduced motion and voice input, from 16 to 80+.
Who it's for
Made for the things you keep putting off.
Pick one to see how the companion might reply.
The exam is in three days and the notes stay closed.
Let’s not plan the whole revision. Open one topic and write three questions you’d expect to see. That’s it for now.

What is Procrastinate.ai?
An AI companion that helps you understand why you are delaying a task and decide what to do about it. It separates helpful delay (incubation, strategic postponement) from avoidance, and suggests the smallest useful next step.
Is it trying to make me stop procrastinating?
Not exactly. Some delay is useful: stepping away from a hard problem or waiting for missing information can be the right call. The goal is to make delay a choice you make on purpose, and to help when it isn't.
Who is it for?
Anyone aged 16 and over who wants a calmer relationship with their to-do list: students, professionals, creators, researchers and older adults. The interface supports larger text, high contrast and reduced motion.
Is it therapy?
No. Procrastinate.ai is a self-reflection and planning tool. Emotional check-ins help it make better suggestions, but it does not diagnose or treat anything. If procrastination is linked to ongoing low mood, anxiety or attention difficulties, a qualified professional can help.
How does it decide what to suggest?
A deterministic decision engine weighs ten independent dimensions, including urgency, consequence of delay, emotional friction, energy, reversibility and deadline proximity. You can always see which factors drove a suggestion. When you consent, AI adds a plain-language interpretation on top.
What is incubation?
Incubation means deliberately stepping away from a problem after working on it, so ideas can form in the background. Research suggests a modest but reliable benefit, especially for creative problems. The Incubation Studio time-boxes it and schedules your return.
What are you putting off right now?
In two minutes you'll know whether to start, step away, or let it wait, and why.
